About Vikki Vodosia
Vikki Vodosia is one of only four Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE-Ps) in the state of Alabama. She provides forensic nursing training throughout the state in an ongoing basis. Vikki is currently employed by the Children’s of Alabama – Children’s Hospital Intervention and Prevention Services (CHIPS) Center. She has worked at the center as a forensic nurse examiner for over 10 years. Vikki serves as the center’s Nurse Coordinator and as such, is their only full time medical provider. Vikki also assists other medical practitioners when they are in clinic. Vikki is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and the caregivers who come to the CHIPS Center with concerns of abuse.
Vikki is active in the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) and currently serves as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Alabama Chapter of the IAFN. She has played a vital role in planning the yearly Alabama IAFN conferences. Vikki has also worked tirelessly along with the Deputy District Attorney, and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Coordinator of the Standing Together Against Rape (STAR) Program, to help create a team of certified and trained nurses who are able to perform pediatric exams within the 15th Circuit in Montgomery, Alabama. Vikki is a contract medical provider for the STAR Program.
Vikki has conducted numerous training sessions for Forensic Nurses and helps to teach a forensic simulation lab at Children’s of Alabama CHIPS Center. Additionally, she has presented training for SANE members outside Alabama, including Florida and Tennessee. Vikki also works on a contract basis at a local Rape Response/Crisis Center, where she sees adolescents and adults who come in for acute medical exams.
